Daniela Knight
Hi! My name is Daniela and I am on the road to 'Perfection'! Yep, I gladly admit it! We all want to improve our lives/bodies or both. Well, most of us do, anyway.
I have recently been going through my life and culling all the 'bad' stuff in order to improve my mind, energy and image. I am now being RUTHLESS (and extreme!)
Here is a summary of what I've been up to:
In 2008 I started running once a week (only about 2k; you have to ease yourself in to exercise!)
In 2009 I joined a gym.
All the while, I tried and tested many different diets to combat my excess fat (it was mostly concentrated around my mid section). Some of my diets included low carb, low fat, meal skipping, eating NOTHING, calorie counting, vegetarianism, veganism, fruitarianism (yep! eating nothing but fruit - that didn't last long!), pescatarianism, and that's about it so far. I will gladly tell you what worked.
I have also been battling with acne since I was 11 and it started off mild, but got MUCH worse (cystic acne) around the time I cut out meat (and replaced it with extra dairy).
I have therefore also tried many acne remedies including (but not limited to):
Steroidal ointments, antibiotic creams, harsh oral antibiotics, hormonal treatments (in the form of different contraceptive pills) microdermabrasion, mild skin peels, zinc supplements, vitamin supplements, cutting sugar, not touching the blemishes, every spot cream you can think of, steam treatment, facials, N-Light Laser acne removal, all to NO avail! So I am still battling acne (and their scars). Although cutting dairy has helped BIG time.
My adventures are often PRETTY extreme so I am now logging them here, for the benefit of everyone wanting to try them, but also as a 'before' and 'after' record.
As a result of so many failed experiments on my body, I am now very thorough in my research on everything from medications to the nutritional values of foods, to which exercises to do for what, where and how!
I am now a bit of a walking encyclopaedia for nutrition, beauty treatments and workout types.
Please feel free to comment with your thoughts and any questions you have :)
Big hug,
Daniela
